API credits and billing

Understand the 1-credit success charge, free failed requests, balance headers, and cache behavior.

A response is charged only after downloadable media is returned. Each successful parse costs 1 credit. Authentication, validation, permission, unavailable-content, no-media, and upstream failures are not charged.

Response

Successful commercial responses include:

  • X-Credits-Charged: 1
  • X-Credits-Remaining: {balance}
  • X-EasyDown-Cache: HIT | MISS | SUPABASE | BYPASS

Cache hits still return media and therefore cost 1 credit. Failed responses never decrement the balance.

API authentication
